Aftermath

A rainy day overcast and gray
an aftermath to sheer tropical destruction 
                                                                                  

rain drops dripping into puddles forming mini whirlpools                                                    

announce 1000’s dead                                                                                                           
many homeless                                                                                    

flood waters encompass the lands 
                                                                                                                                               
trees statuesque in their splendor                               

leaves on branches delicate and slender 
sway to the rhythm of the wind                                                                                            
bowing to the universe in awe of raw power.
